Gym Styles

I prefer to exercise outdoors, but there are South Florida stormy/too hot days that sometimes require the gym. Our community club house has a small gym, which we pay for as part of our quarterly dues. It's nothing fancy, but there is enough equipment to help anyone get a good workout in.

So, I probably go to this gym twice a week or so and seem to run into the same cast of characters no matter what day or time of day I go:

1. Foul Mouthed Men - I want to call these guys' mothers to come wash their mouths out with soap. They talk - actually shout - like sailors and pollute the atmosphere with their words. Yesterday, they were both watching the same sports channel on their treadmills and were trash talking about some "F(*K(*NG" sports guy..."F(*K(*NG" being the main word.

2. King of Queens Guy - There is a guy who looks EXACTLY like the King of Queens guy, Kevin James. He is always there, but the poor guy looks like he is gaining weight instead of losing. He grunts and sweats. He looks like he's trying very hard, God bless him.

3. Grunting Guy - There's another guy who starts off on the treadmill at top speed. He quitely huffs and puffs for a bit and then starts LOUDLY huffing and puffing. After about 30 minutes of this, he moves to the free weight area and LOUDLY grunts his way through a vigorous routine. He is not there at exactly the same time as the King of Queens. Otherwise, they might become great friends.

4. All Business Women - These happen to be two of my neighbor ladies who are in amazing shape. They each have their own very routines, which are obviously well planned out and have a very specific purpose. One circles the gym several times doing squats with weights. The other seems to be running from thing to thing to keep her heart rate up. Regardless, I need to start hanging around them more and copying what they do. I want to be incognito, but something tells me that they would pick up on what I was up to ;-)

I haven't exercised yet today but am going to fit in a 30-Minute Shred before American Idol.

Snacks
Snacks were less than stellar today. I had two cups of this cereal and a baguette that came with the dinner salad. I have to get to the store tomorrow or Thursday for some good produce!
