Why does it take 5 days to inspect a nursing home? Inspectors take 5 days to inspect a 270-bed facility and also take 5 days to inspect a 60-bed home. What gives?
They'll tell you it's the process that makes the process the way it is, but you have to ask yourself- Does this make any sense?
With teams of 5 or more inspectors, why can't inspections be completed in 2 or 3 days? Twice as many inspections could be completed and facility resources would be strained for shorter time periods, which I believe, will benefit residents and family.
