When Major Phil Packer was injured in a rocket attack in Basra in February '08, he was told that he would never walk again. However, he didn't let such a pessimistic prognosis deter him and yesterday, the day of the London Marathon, he set off to walk the marathon course on crutches to raise funding for the Help for Heroes charity.
Phil's doctors have advised him not to walk more than 2 miles a day, so it will take him 13 days to complete the course. Visit his website at www.PhilPacker.com to check on his progress, leave him a message of support and help him in his attempt to raise £1,000,000 by sponsoring him.
