Sore

I'm more sore today than I thought I would be from swimming...nothing too dramatic, but noticeable. Today was beyond busy with work and driving my little people all over God's creation. It was probably a good idea that I took a day of rest from exercise.

I was not home for more than 15 - 30 minutes at a time today and had to eat out twice. Definitely not my preference these days!

Breakfast
1 1/2 c. fruit
1 c. skim milk
1 package instant oatmeal
1 T. peanut butter


Lunch
1/4 c. white rice
1/2 c. black beans
2 plantains
4 oz. chicken


Snacks
pretzels
cheese stick
1 Laughing Cow cheese wedge
1 Madeline cookie

Dinner
1/4 c. fried rice
miso soup
salad
stir fry vegetables
1/2 c. chicken

The boy and I were on our own for dinner tonight (little one was with a friend, and the husband had a business dinner), so I took him to a sushi/hibatchi place that we had never tried before. We were doing OK until the cooking part came. I asked the hibatchi guy to take it easy on the oil and "Japanese ice cream" as he was calling it (butter). We definitely had communication issues because the whole meal was tasting too greasy and salty for me to enjoy. I mostly had bites of the rice and chicken. The vegetables were OK. My taste has definitely changed over the last several weeks! The most enjoyable part of the meal was talking to the boy and watching him light up when the hibatchi guy threw knives around, set things on fire, and cracked eggs in a fancy way ;-)
