I have a really itchy jawline

When i was younger i used to have an allergy to red food colourings that swelled my jaw up, made it itch and made me feel ill. the worst reaction was when my ankles swelled up for days. That was between the ages of 4 and 12 ish i would guess, i am now 22 and up until now had had no further problems.
Over the last few weeks i have been suffering with an increasingly itchy jaw and a bumps, like heat bumps, that appeared across the lower part of my cheek, jaw and neck. There aren't many bumps, they look like random little bites, something i get a lot of anyway. In fact that was what i thought this was at first, but it has been hanging around for a while now, and obviously it's making me feel self conscious.
I hope you may be able to offer me some advice before i go and see a doctor.
