A day with Frank...

Posted Sep 22 2008 11:03am
Every Friday morning I drive over and pick up my friend, Frank. He has mid-stage Alzheimer's and entertain him a few hours to give him a break as well as his wife, Dottie.

Anyway, we spent our time together visiting an open house at the Gem Institute of America. It's a huge facility that provides technical support for the gem and jewelry industry. Frank used to spend time there making jewelry as a hobby.

Frank is progressing rather quickly. Today he told me his father just died. Now Frank is 85 so I know his father died a long time ago. He went on to tell me what a wonderful man he was. His communication skills have eroded badly.
