Back to you... from Kansas

Posted Sep 22 2008 11:03am
Old brother!  Of course I don't remember when your birthday happens.  I knew it was October sometime, and I remember the 10 year deal, actually about 10 1/2 since my b-day is Feb 13, and I'll be 65 this time around!  And I received an appropriate "lecture" from Connie (my wife) for my emote in that last entry.  So no more bashing the religious community, even though I think I'm right! (somewhat, anyway).  Lots of great people have given their lives to care about, be with, encourage, and bring a word of faith and hope to people.  I definitely don't have it all figured out.  Just that we could do better with the resources we possess.

This joint thing we Hayen boys struggle to manage is something.  I know I've posted some earlier comments on bad knees, hips, ankles, wrists, about any body joint we might be able to complain about.  All of the above give me trouble.  All six of us brothers suffered with this mess.  The only joint that works right for me is the 11 year old make-believe knee in my left leg!  So 'ol bro, that hip isn't going to get any less painful with time.  Remember our old dad, Fred G., used a cane in his later years.  And I know it does add a touch of sophistication to your presence.  And just go slow.

As I write this I can see some of our pre-school kids out in the play area, doing what kids do . . . run, jump, all the moves long since forgotten by Don and Jan.  Thank goodness for the technology which gives us the possibility of freedom of movement when those days are past us and our joints are worn out.
