Mindfulness Meditation Group

Posted Oct 27 2009 11:00pm
Join me for a weekly Mindfulness Meditation Group in Newport Beach, CA. The group will run from 7:30pm - 8:30pm on Tuesdays at 1101 Dove, Suite 255. Beginning Tuesday, November 3, 2009.

Mindfulness is a way of being in our lives as they are right now. Often we are anxiously anticipating the future, chronically stuck in the past, or on "automatic pilot." Through this weekly group you will learn how to actually live this moment fully, whatever it holds.

Why meditate? Many people meditate for help with:

  • Anxiety and panic
  • Chronic pain - headaches, fibromyalgia, etc.
  • Chronic illness: cancer, HIV/AIDS, organ transplants
  • Emotional upset: inappropriate expressions of anger, chronic fearfulness
  • Fatigue
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Sleep disruption
  • Stress: job, family, financial
  • Wellness and health promotion

Many choose to practice mindfulness meditation because they feel like they are missing out on their lives or are overwhelmed with the pace and busyness of daily living, wanting to remain successful and productive but with a greater sense of ease and balance.

Katie Goode, M.A., is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive training and experience in Western Psychology, Mindfulness, Yoga, and Meditation.. She believes that attending to the mind, body, and spirit is critical to developing a sense of balance and emotional wellbeing.

*The first group is free, additional groups will be $12 drop in or $100 for 10. Visit www.welnesschoicecenter.com for more information.
