What If?

The more you avoid facing things the bigger the deal they become. Instead of just snatching up the phone and calling a number, my fingers hover over the buttons and then I put it down again. Silence. The longer I resist making conversation the harder it is to find things to say. Those letters I meant to write are now months overdue and as more time passes it's a trouble to know where to begin.
