Ways to Sleep Better When You're Sick

Face it--having a cold kind of sucks, and it's generally bad for your sleep patterns too when you're waking up constantly in the middle of the night to hack up a lung or take some more cold medicine. Here are some ideas on how to get better rest when you're feeling under the weather:
1) Drink at least 64 ounces of fluid a day, as this will help hydrate your throat and nasal passages. Extra Vitamin C is also a must.
2) Drink warm, caffeine-free herbal tea before bedtime, which can help you sleep and make a sore throat not so sore.
3) If you have to take medicine, go for products that relieve one symptom only rather than combination cold pills. Less is more.
4) Stay away from sleeping pills when you have a cold. It can make it harder for you to wake up in the morning, and taking them with cold medicine may be dangerous.
