Easter Salvation

Posted Apr 26 2009 11:33pm
The neatest thing happened the other day.

Our dear friend Maury Evans bought the kids an Easter video and all the kids were mesmerized by it. Nathan was especially interested in it and grimaced and asked questions at all the important moments. Tony was explaining it to him as he watched it.

A couple days later, Nathan was getting ready to play a computer game and randomly asked "Why did Jesus have to die on the cross?" I said, well let me tell you and told him what I've told all my 3 year old children whom I've had this same talk with. When I talked to him about sin and asked him if he ever did bad stuff he told me "no, I don't do bad stuff any more mommy." I told him about sin and the cross and heaven and accepting Christ into your heart. All the time he was completely engaged and following all that I was explaining to him. When I asked him if he'd like to pray to ask Jesus to forgive his sins and ask Him into his heart he said yes. So I led him in a sinner's prayer and then congratulated him and then set up his computer game for him, which he proceeded to play! :)

Later, I gave him a bible and told him it was his and he carried it around in a basket and looked at the pictures for the rest of the day. He held onto that bible for a couple of hours into the beginning of our spring break road trip! :)

So that is my exciting news! My other kids did this right about this age and it has been a stepping stone in their spiritual growth, I'm so happy that Nathan could have this same experience. Maury Evans was so blessed to hear the story of course!

Here are some Easter photos:
