The captain peeks out!

You may recall that we have been working on transferringresponsibility with Logan. Sort of making him take a more active approach rather than passively sitting by waiting for someone else to compensate for him ( or over compensate if it's me!). Part of this has been really tough for me. The part where you give the child enough time to come up with an answer before you supply them with one. I can't say that this would have occurred without the Divine Intervention of him getting locked out of his room.
The children are not allowed to use their daily hour of computer time, video games or tv until all their independent work in their lessons is completed. All Logan had left to do was his ot activities. Today's assignment was to do heavy work while wearing his weighted vest. I suggested that he wear the vest while completing his chore of sweeping the carport. Thus, killing two birds with one stone. He was very excited to get this completed so he could play Star Wars Battlefront on the XBox. Unfortunately, he discovered that his room door had been locked. Dad had left for work so now he has to wait for Dad to come home to unlock it. ( I am so not gifted in that area. I just get frustrated and want to kick the door down. lol ).
I went and helped Madison with her math pages. First, he came in with a plastic bag full of shampoo and what not. I explained that he needed to wear it to do the activity. Then he came in and asked if I had a jacket with pockets. Sensing what he was trying to do , I said no but I bet there is a backpack in Madison's room. Excitedly, he raced off to Madison's room to get her dance bag then proceeded to fill it up with shampoo, conditioner, pretty much anything heavy. I did help out by adjusting the straps so he didn't dislocate his shoulder trying to get it on. I'd say it was excellent problem solving!
