I have severe lower back pain,will medrol help my condition?

Medrol is a corticosteroid and it is used to treat inflammation and pain symptoms. I don't think this is going to take care of your lower back pain- it may give you some relief temporarily. You said that you have severe lower back pain- have you had an x-ray or an MRI? If you have pain going into the leg/ numbness & tingling or weakness a lumbar MRI is going to show if there is anything going on at the disc level.Finally, have you tried other types of treatment for this lower back pain?    NAV J.   thank you foryour answer to my question about my back pain.i have had an xray.i have a pacemaker so i can not have an mri..i have some bulging discs in my lower back.i have had injections in my lower back and physical therapy and neither helped.i am on pain pills every 6 hours,muscle relacksers twice a day,and 4 ibuprofen all of which gives me temp.relief.the reason i ask about medrol,my sister in law has severe back pain and medrol gives hersome tenp.relief.what i would like to know is would medrol give me any more relief than the medication i am already taking.  thank you DON.
