Lump on the back of my neck

I found a lump on the back of my neck that's about 6 finger widths down from the base of my skull. It doesn't itch nor does it hurt when pressed. It's about the diameter of a nickel and raised up enough for someone to see it and that I can feel.
It's just a couple days before Thanksgiving so I'm sure that nothing can be done before next week. Are their lymph nodes located around that area of the neck?
I've had headaches my entire life so I can't say that the headaches I've been having are just my normal headaches or caused by this lump. I have had bad stiffness in my neck/shoulder area for the past week. I've not had the flu and I haven't had any colds.
Is this something I should be concerned about?
