Therapeutic effect

Posted Oct 13 2009 10:00pm

Hi

There comes a point in your relationships with fellow mentally ill folk where you want to scream at them because they are undermining their recovery.

Not wanting to change your meds because the one you are on because even though you cry more on them they stop you feeling like crap is understandable.

Bursting into tears when being asked to make a decision is not a good sign.  Then eventually admitting that despite months of staunch argument otherwise that you don’t think the past does stay in the past  and then deciding that therapy is not maybe a good idea because it involves talking to a stranger is asinine.

Much like the iPhone adverts the sequence shown has been shorten.  The whole sequence took half an hour.  This post is a bit like shortening an episode of friends to – Macguffin, Chandler makes sarcastic comments, development of that season’s relationship focus, macguffin resolved.  Which although lacks some nuance is pretty much every episode of friends.

I am not angry.  Just really disappointed that there is going to continue to be no resolution due to a perpetual not-wanting-to-talk-right-now.

Grrr, arrgh.

For those inclined, prayer please.
