With Crawling Colors

The grades are in, Rob passed. I don't know how. Two weeks ago I'd sent an email to his special ed teacher and asked her to let me know what Rob had to do to pass his classes, based on his IEP requirement of 50% assignment completions. She responded that he had passed Math with a C, and I saw his other grades posted online, a D in Family Relations, and a D in Biology. When school starts again, he will officially be a senior. When I told Rob that he passed, he said "How did I do that?" I reminded him of the 50% thing. "Oh."

A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away - I used to think Rob would make an excellent attorney. His penchant and skill for arguing was obvious from the time he learned to talk. His affection for all creatures was apparent also. We've talked quite a few times about his becoming a vet. He has always been adamant that pain, blood, and broken bones would be highly likely to cause him to vomit or faint. I would counter with the argument that many doctors and vets find they are able to do alot of "gross" things in order to save a life, and I've suggested also maybe he could investigate the biologist/research avenue as well.

Rob has many talents. How will he utilize his talents without higher education? I don't know. Will Rob manage to pass high school? I don't know that either. I do know - Rob is going to find his way.

Thanks to all for the fish comments - I do have a 20 gal. tank around here somewhere that will be put to use in the fall. I thought about just making the fish "disappear" and blaming it on a raccoon, but I guess that just wouldn't be very nice.

Pics of the pond are in progress. I want to make the patio look like something first... I'd hate to post pics with disclaimers "ok, here it is - but ignore this, this, this and this."
