I’ve personally met one of these people listed above. I’ve personally spoken with four of them. At some level, I’ve corresponded with them all. Who are they? They are people who have Parkinson’s Disease or know someone who has PD.

I’ve personally only met one of these people in person - Judy. Even if I hadn’t met her face to face, I can honestly say, like every other name on the list above, I feel a connection to these people. I have honestly grown a love for each one of them. Why? They understand.

They have become family to me, even though most of them probably don’t know it. They are real - they suffer, they cry and laugh about PD in a way only a person or one caring for a person with a chronic disease can understand. They care. Some care to the point of risking their life to save a life (see Enzo of ‘The Regulars ‘).

I get through many days thinking about these other people - how they have encouraged me in so many unknown ways. I ’see’ many of them on Facebook and read the caring notes they send to another fellow PD’er who is having a tough time and I am warmed by the concern and outpour of love they extend to one another. It is awesome.

I am inclined to strongly agree with Michael J Fox in that I wouldn’t trade my life for what it is right now. To do so would mean to wish I hadn’t met these people. I wouldn’t have started this site and found a voice that was waiting to speak on something with purpose. It would mean this new family would belong to others and I would not be a part. And I really like this new family. So, PD, while we’re kickin’ you in ‘da butt, we’re doing it holding on to one another.

Guys, if I haven’t said it - YOU ARE LOVED!
