Preemies as Teens - Later Learning Problems of the Prematurely Born

Although most graduates from the NICU, or neonatal intensive care, are 'graduated' from the developmental or high risk clinics within the first few months or years of life, many grapple silently with significant learning challenges and disabilities. We need more awareness of the early childhood consequences of prematurity so these kids can get the help they need...

My daughter is 17 and was 8 weeks and 4 days early weighing in at 2 lbs. and 14 oz. She has been experiencing many, many headaches over the years and they seem to be particularly bothersome now. Anybody know where to turn or what to do about this?
