Is a endocervial component related to cervical cancer

Posted by curious

I had an abnormal paps smear. My results stated : Satisfactory for evaluation. Endocervical/transformation zone cmponent present. What does this mean? The doctor did another paps smear today. If it comes back abnormal they will have to look at my cervix. If it comes back normal I will still have to take another one in 3 more months. Why is this? This doesn't have anything to do with cervical cancer do it?
