Vivienne was admitted today to hydrate in preparation for her methotrexate, which began at about 3pm and will continue for 24 hours.
We were at first bummed that Vivienne will be inpatient for Halloween (she was discharged from an inpatient stay on July 4, headed to Memphis on my birthday, and an inpatient for Labor Day and Columbus Day). But the hospital is being decorated to the NINES, and we are really excited to see it tomorrow. There appears to be a Harry Potter set near the cafetaria, and 2-South (the Solid Tumor floor) is Willy Wonka-themed. We hope to take an abundance of pictures tomorrow.
In other news, I had the opportunity to see the reports from the recent imaging although we have not yet reviewed with the doctor. One thing to note is that as I have been insisting for months over the objections of doctors, Vivienne has chronic sinusitis. This really bums me out, because it seems horrible that she should have to deal with cancer, constant hiccups AND bad sinuses. What more can they DO to a baby? And yet, she is so sunny and happy.
