Well, we had a slight wrinkle this week that can best be summed up as a whole lot of trouble for a very tiny, easily fixed thing.
Vivi's central line clotted off, meaning that a blod clot clogged the line so we could not use it for medicines. This was not a big problem, because there is no medicine Vivi takes that she MUST have via the line, but it is important to fix. First, we want to be able to use it in the future if Vivienne is uncomfortable taking "PO" (by mouth) meds. Secondly, we do NOT want the clot to pass into Vivienne's blood stream.
So, after a day of worrying about what should be done, we took Vivienne to see Dr. Kang at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. There, they gave Vivi a checkup (which she passed with flying colors) and unclogged the line. It was nice to see everyone there again.
On the way home, we had a lot of traffic and Vivi was tired, bored and uncomfortable so she cried the WHOLE time. LUCKILY, the best thing of all that happened yesterday is - GRANDMOM IS HERE!! She flew in from Maine yesterday, forgave me for being an hour late to pick her up, and has been snuggling and cuddling Vivi non-stop.
As I would say to Viv, "it's wonderful!"
