Tiny Prisoner, still no Parole

Posted Nov 03 2008 9:03pm
What is her crime? Excess of cuteness? Wilfull and Wanton smiling? Recklessly Wrapping her Parents around her Tiny Fingers? Negligent Infliction of Parental Affection?

Vivienne has not gone above 99 degrees axillary (armpit) since Friday night, but they just won't discharge her. It's getting ridiculous. Mamabunny is becoming infuriated. They are giving her the exact same medicines we do at home (Benadryl, Ativan, Zofran and sometimes Nystatin), along with antibiotics that she could easily get outpatient in the medicine room. Yes, her ANC is currently nil, but plenty of kids walk around these parts with masks on when they have low counts. Vivi would not even have to wear a mask unless she leaves our apartment (which, since she can't walk, is pretty easy to keep under control).

And this is the same exact thing, on the same exact day of the chemo cycle, that happened last month. They kept Vivi for ages, with truly no need to do so.

I want my baby back....
