What symptoms come with a lump on your tibia?

I have a lump on my left tibia.  Hard lump.  I had it xrayed and then just had an MRI.  They called it soft tissue density lump.  I have had more bone aches in other areas...especially buttocks, shoulders, and leg.  The tibia hurts if I kneel on it and sometimes I get shooting pains.  It is tolerable but I an concerned what this growing lump is.  I don't know yet if it is cancer.
