The title is Day 5.5 for a reason. I had a minor setback on Saturday and Sunday. We had a few problems in the house. A huge onslaught of relatives visited from Maryland. They brought their kids, the in-laws, and their appetites. And my grandmother made the Italian food.
I was super tired from Friday night, so I chose to limit my workout to simply cleaning the house and walking the Peanut and my niece to the ice cream shop for some gelato.
My grandmother made spaghetti, meatballs, ravioli, sausage, meat sauce, salad, eggplant parm, gnochhis, cheesecake. OH MY GOD. It was like a GF-DF personal hell! All homemade, all delicious. I was frothing at the mouth thinking about what to do. I barely ate all day, wondering if I should save myself the agony tomorrow and NOT eat what everyone else had- and make my own pasta dish or suck it up, take a Claritin (prevents the rash), and pop some Pepto as my dessert. Clearly I had to base my day today on what I wanted to feel like tomorrow.
I chose... OK, I compromised. I still had leftover dessert from the party on Friday night. So I SAMPLED everything. Concentrated on having a HUGE helping of salad, and since my grandmother's meatballs are 100% meat, I had three of them. So I tried the ravioli, the eggplant parm, the gnocchis. YUM YUM YUM. I stayed away from the bread though. Those Italian bread slices covered in butter and baked in the oven. Sigh. I could have OD'd on all this, but I limited myself!
I did however OD on dessert! YUMMY! I had made Pamela's chocolate brownies (I turned them into cupcakes) and Namaste's Blondie Brownie (added Enjoy Life chocolate chips). Ohhhh... I could live and die on sweets.
Fast forward to Sunday and I took an hour long walk with my sister, then did Hip Hop Abs Scuplt 2 when we got back.
Then I ate more dessert. My nieces licked the frosting off the cupcakes I made. And left the cake. I couldn't waste it!
I'm back on the wagon today. I promise. We can all indulge a little bit every now and then right?

My nephew. Too cute for words!
