This weekend was possibly the longest, busiest two days I have had in a while! It was fun though, it keeps me on my toes. Usually my weekends are filled with cooking and writing and working. Maybe some workouts and movies thrown in there.
Well! Where shall I start??? Friday started with a nice workout after a BUSY day at work. I did Hip Hop Abs and then some plyometrics.. jumping jacks, "EASY" squats, some bicep curls, etc. Then I took a nice long shower and watched Hannah Montana with the Peanut. Then when she went to bed, Taste Tester and I watched the History Channel- they were running this show called the "Modern Marvels" and it was all about James Bond stuff! We are both HUGE James Bond fans and were glued to the TV like kids in a candy store- oooo-ing and aaaa-ing over the cars, the gadgets, the BOATS! WHOOO!!!
On Saturday the Peanut went to the movies! She saw a sneak preview in 3-D of Bolt! The new cartoon with John Travolta and Miley Cyrus. She loved it! She was taken by one of her fabulous Aunties. While she was doing that Taste Tester and I were watching MORE dorky History Channel stuff... then suddenly... we both inexplicably had a craving for Cuban food. YUM YUM YUM!!!!
We drove ALL the way up to Miami Restaurant in Jamaica Plain. O-M-G!!!! I should have taken a picture of it! Next time I will. It's simple, nothing fancy, but authentic to the core and you get literally 4 meals for 20 bucks. Taste Tester loves it because the stewed chicken is the closest to his mom's food as you can get. And anything that reminds him of his mom is a great thing.
Sunday I went to DANCE CLASS!!!!! Yes! I went back! I had a lesson to use up- I exchanged some administration work for a lesson (oh I'm such a pimp huh?) and made up some nice business cards for a teacher there who has a side job, made some phone calls for him, and BAM got a lesson! We worked on T-A-N-G-O. I feel my best on the dance floor even with a bum knee. I had my sneakers to keep the knee soft, but he went easy on me so I wouldn't hurt myself. Wonderful time!!!
So tonight I checked out Patriot Place at Foxboro Stadium.... we went to the movies to see the new James Bond movie!!! The theater has a "Lux Level" where basically they pork you an extra 10 bucks per ticket (but you get 10 dollars off a food and bev purchase) all so you can sit upstairs in the "lux box" in the lap of luxury. Oh yea we paid it. And although I couldn't eat ANYTHING on the menu (booooo!) the seats were comfy! And although when we buzzed our server with the little "call button" on the chairs and she took 20 minutes to come over... and then another 15 to get us drinks (I had decaf coffee and TT had a Pepsi??!!!) it was still an enjoyable experience. I can't say that I would do it again. $41.00 is WAY too much for a movie when I have a nice cushy couch at home that I paid a lot of money for...
But for holiday shopping this place will be a gold mine! There are so many stores and restaurants in the strip, plus there is a Medical Center in case you faint from walking around so much! Call the ambulance! My bags are too heavy!
And I leave you with... The Quantum Of Solace trailer... incredible movie! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
