...why I decided to do yoga in the mornings and not run!
More of the Power Yoga this morning. I was dragging butt too! I went to bed fairly early- around 10:30. And was up at 5:30- yoga tape was in and on at 5:50. I got almost all the way through the workout but had to stop at 6:45 to get in the shower in order to make it to work on time. On time for me is about 8:04. But seriously! I am sore! And according to my yoga tape; yoga should be making me SOAR- not SORE! But alas, my back feels stretched out and my neck has a little less tension in it. Best of all, I know I burned some major calories! And made my day a little less stressful first thing in the morning.
Without giving away my exact location... there was a horrible event that occured in my town. On the street that I run down. On the street that I used to ride my bike on. Where my daughter now rides her bike. I can look out my window and see the street where it happened. The police searched my backyard looking for the suspects. I live in a safe neighborhood and this event goes to show us that no one is immune to drug related violence. According to the papers, this was all over a drug deal gone bad. And what really happened? Only three people know, one is dead, one is in jail, and one is still out there somewhere. I can only hope and pray that my daughter grows up knowing the difference between a smart choice and a bad one. The people involved were so young, it's hard to tell if they really understood the consequences behind their actions. And now it's too late for two of them. Please I implore every person out there to ask themselves before they get involved in a world they can't escape from to think about how much their life is really worth. Is a quarter pound of weed worth a life? The street value of weed will never equal a life. Never. It will never be equal to your freedom. The one who survived will spend many many years behind bars, but at least he did not have a bullet in his head.
