Up next ladies and gents... it's my Zumba challenge week!!!!!!! YAY!!!!
OK that was stupid, but hey I'm pretty excited!
I got my Zumba DVD's for Christmas like I wanted, so I was anxious to try them out. According to the website, you are guaranteed to lose a dress size in a week! So for the next week, I will be shaking my rump and shaking my rump some more to get rid of all those damn cookies... all those late night snacks... and get back into my cute winter clothes! I am so tired of my cycle of overeating and then having to work out for two hours after!
Fitnessista posted on her website that being healthy is 80% nutrition, and only 10% working out. So what does that mean for me? Well, I'm going to have to eat clean all week in order to get maximum results. It will be very tough.. I know I have a pot roast in the fridge for later.. taco night tomorrow night.. can I do it? Can I make it happen???
Yea, I think so!
Ok- so the second my family left (yes they all ditched me and went to Texas!) I ripped open the DVDs and popped the "power" one in. Surely, with my experience with Latin dance would make this a piece of cake.
NOT!
First of all people.. the damn DVDs are mostly in Spanish! With the chick on one side sort of translating while she's huffing and puffing along! OK, I thought, no problem I can follow along. Well, I guess I should have reviewed the "beginners" DVD first because there were some moves in there I have never seen before, nor have I done before! Never mind... we have Beto in the front yapping away in Spanish! I called Taste Tester after to complain, he was laughing at me... maybe he will have to workout with me to translate. Or I need to go back to Spanish class! Ai Dios Mio!!!
So the next day I switched to the Advanced DVD. Surely this one would be a bit easier. I think it was, the girl translating (yep.. again!) was a bit better about it and I could follow all the steps no problem. FUN! I loved it! I had to dance like no one was watching because some of the moves feel kind of silly still!
But overall.. fun fun fun! On Friday I added some ab work after the Power DVD, Saturday I added more ab work and did some weights after the Advanced DVD, and I did more ab work- I did the Turbo Jam 20 minute Ab jam. So far I feel pretty good! I will be checking in daily this time (so read up on my Zumba adventures!!) to ensure that I DO IT!
My measurements by the way are as follows: 27 inch waist and 36 inch hips. This is UP one inch all over from a year ago.. the tragedy that comes with not dancing all weekend anymore.
Here is some fun Zumba dancing.. the music is from one of the DVDs, but it looks like this is a plug for Kellogg! LOL! The instructor is from the Power DVD- her name is Jenny...
