Arnold-Chiari syndrome is a defect in the formation of the cerebellum (the small, bottom portion of the brain) and brainstem. This defect can prevent the passage of blood from the brain into the spinal canal.

Muskogee woman: Brain condition more common than people know (Muskogee Phoenix)

Michelle Farris said she suffered for three years and went through seven doctors before discovering she had a brain condition. Farris, coordinator of the conference center and adjunct instructor at Northeastern State University’s Muskogee campus, said the condition is called Chiari malformation.
