8 yr old vomitting and diarrhea without any other symptoms

My son is 8 yrs old. He got a low grade fever and severe headache on Friday afternoon by early Sat. the fever and headache were gone he felt fine. Sat. night he started vomitting with severe diarrhea that lasted for several hours. The vomitting stopped but the diarrhea persisted for three days with out any fever. On the third afternoon the vomitting started again without a fever. He doesn't have any pain or discomfort. He has been sleeping alot more than usual. He can hold down fluids but he can't hold down anything with consistency. Everytime he tries to eat regular food he says he feels funny and then he vomits.
