Kids with Ds

Posted Jun 13 2009 12:11am

So, I surely can't be the only mom of a kid with Ds who sees other kids with Ds out there in the big bad world and doesn't have the guts to ask the question. I'll ask the mom/caregiver everything but the question, even if I am 99% sure the kid has Ds. While visiting Santa's village today, Audrey played with a little boy who I am certain had Ds. I found out his age (3), that the woman with him wasn't his Mom, his name, and commented on how cute he was - yada, yada. I even got some shots of he and Audrey playing together (not going to post them because, well, I just don't think that's right). Anyway, now I am left wondering - did I miss out on a great opportunity to actually talk to someone? To bond with someone? All because of the worry that I would be wrong. I need some sort of script of how to ask without actually asking.
