My 4-year old woke up this morning with a small amount of dried blood surrounding her vagina. What would cause this?

This is the first and only time I've ever seen this. She said there was no pain in the area and she doesn't remember falling and hurting that area. She has acknowledged having her fingers in that area a lot (and sleeps naked). Could she have made herself bleed?
