First, an aside, you'd think I would be smart enough to write some of these posts and save them for when I have nothing to say. But, alas, I am a mind dump and publish kind of gal.
Last night W put Stella to bed because I was on a conference call. We had a slight miscommunication that led to him putting her to bed before I nursed her. And she seemed okay with it. I hear her in there talking to herself, but decided I wouldn't go in; I'd just wait and see what happened. She ended up talking herself to sleep. So, she obviously doesn't need or isn't super attached to the last nursing of the day (which would put me down to only nursing once a day!!). Now, here's where the "problem" happened. Wally was not home tonight for bed, so I had to put her down. And she sat there, furiously, signing milkmilkmilkmilk when I put her in the crib (this is after she totally lost her cool and cried her head off). Can you guess what happened? That's right, I nursed her. Apparently she couldn't get enough because every time I laid her down she did the milkmilkmilk thing. @@ I eventually just let her in there to cry a bit and she's asleep now.
So. This is my question. To knock out that nighttime nursing, do I have W put her to bed for a week (or something) straight? I, for the life of me, can't remember what happened with A, other than that she was really easy to wean because she took to eating, self-feeding and the straw like a champ. Don't get me wrong ~ she's had/got her issues ~ it's just feeding or anything related to feeding isn't one of them. ;-)
Oh, and Stella's signing "more" now. Yay. Two signs!!
