Why would a toddler get frequent bloody noses

Our granddaughter gets frequent bloody noses, but only when she stays at her mother's home. Her parents were seperated last October. When Bailey stays overnight here she only had one minor bloody nose that didn't wake her. When Bailey spends the night at her mom's she has a severe bloody nose, that wakes her in the middle of the night, for 2 to 4 hours, almost nightly. There is a shedding dog at her mother's and no dogs here. Bailey doesn't sneeze around the dog. Could it be stress as a lot of yelling goes on between the mother and grandmother. Bailey will be 2 on 4/1/09
