Boost Workout Efforts Quicker With Supplements

Posted Feb 18 2009 12:09pm

I am a believer in supplements.  Taking magnesium, for example, eliminated my migraines.  For those of you who suffer from them, you can imagine my relief.  I also use supplements to boost my workout efforts.

Try as I do, I know my diet lacks certain vitamins and minerals.  Supplements help fill those dietary deficiencies.  Other supplements help me to improve my performance and increase my metabolism.  For performance, I use creatine. Creatine helps to enhance my strength building efforts.  My husband swears by it.  As we all know, increased muscle mass increases metabolism.  That is the goal of strength training workouts.

Green tea and chromium picolinate also give your metabolism that added boost to say nothing of the antioxidant benefits of green tea.  Increased metabolism allows your body to continue burning calories even when you’re at rest.  In effect, your body becomes more efficient over time.

I must say that everyone is different.  These supplements work for me, but it up to you to decide what works best for your body.  In any case, you always want to research any supplements that you take.  This is especially important if you are on any prescription medication.  Your pharmacist is also a good source of information.

Strength training is a necessary part of any exercise program.  Careful use of supplements can boost your workout efforts and make your body work for you.
