Can I consume alcohol while taking clindamycin?

I am currently taking clindamycin and am wondering if I will be able to drink alcohol, and if so how much while taking this medication. I would like to know as soon as possible! Thanks.

Call your pharmacist. This is an antibiotic and there is generally no problem drinking alcohol while taking an antibiotic. The REALLY IMPORTANT thing to remember is that you should be taking a probiotic supplement to gain back all the good bacteria you will be losing as a result of an antibiotics regimen. Once again, this isn't permission to drink alcohol -- it's a warning to call your doctor or pharmacist, and to be cautious of the loss of all the good bacteria in your body.
