Let's Talk About Back Pain Again

Posted Mar 21 2008 11:44am
On February 7, I wrote my first entry about back pain. I promised to revisit this topic often as acupuncture for back pain is of great interest to the general public. (Thank you to everyone who emailed questions.) Last time I talked about sciatica. This time I wish to address lumbago, or general low back pain and stiffness.

Everyone gets back pain from time to time. There is no need to suffer though. Acupuncture can help you by moving blood and qi, reducing inflammation, and putting you on the path to wellness. If you address your back pain within the first 48 hours of onset, you will be amazed at the rapid rate at which you recover.

Treatment involves placing needles in the low back, the back of the legs, and ankles. I may also apply cupping and/or an infrared heat lamp. You will be so relaxed that you will probably nap or meditate. Most patients do.

The number of treatments necessary depends on the severity of your case.

I look forward to your questions and comments.

Thank you for reading.
