Several people have asked me about my opinion concerning the recent events on
http://friendsofpepe.blogspot.com . To be completely honest, something felt off about Pepe/Gina's story to me from the beginning, but I've chosen to publicly withhold my opinion unless her story was proven to be untrue (as many are now wondering), and I only am writing about this now because so many others are asking sincere questions. I do not know Pepe at all outside of what has been written on her blog.
I'm still hesitant to share my thoughts, because, my hope is that her story is true, and I certainly don't want to slander anyone who has truly survived everything Pepe has been through. I realize that a lot of people are wondering what my thoughts are about this, but I hope that this post will not cause anyone who has been keeping up with Pepe over the past few days to think differently of her story. I do encourage you to always expect the best of people, but be cautious about placing your total and complete trust in anything you might read on the internet.
I'll continue to think of and pray for Pepe and hope that the truth, whatever the truth may be, is proven. I am certainly the last person in the world to call bluff on an amazing story of life and death without any solid proof, and I know that there are many people (who prefer to comment anonymously) who love nothing more than attempting to cause others to doubt the power of love and hope and miracles. There is nothing more frustrating than to be dealing with a severe medical situation and have anyone criticize and doubt your circumstances, and, from personal experience, it is very easy for people to misunderstand things that are written on a blog. At the risk of looking foolish later, I'll continue to believe in Pepe and her story.
Please, for those of you have been following Pepe's story, continue to wait patiently with me...the truth will emerge at some point. Also, don't bother emailing me or commenting here about this until we know more...this is all I have to say.
Still praying.
Nate
