Here is an interesting article that discusses how to make tap dancing shoes with pennies. I can’t personally vouch for this approach but I understand that it used to be quite popular on the streets of New Orleans among poor street performers.
Now there is no excuse for not getting started on that “start tap dancing” New Year’s Resolution. All you need is a piece of wood, some shoes with hard bottoms, some pennies, and a little tape.
