Swollen cheek and pain!!

Hello,
I have had pain/tenderness in my right cheek for a few weeks and put it down to a tooth, but since ive had root canal treatment last week it has got worse and has swollen right up. No painkillers are working and im feeling really down now. Im thinking maybe ive had an abcess but surely the dentist would have spotted that when doing my tooth??
Please can you tell me what is the best thing for me to do, considering its a sunday and bank holiday tomorrow, so will be unable to see my doctor/dentist
