Hi there. I am a Type I diabetic as well and have suffered with the same symptoms that you are describing. I have received little help from my doctors about this but have done some research on my own and have come to conclusion that my ph levels have changed because of the diabetes. I use a product called SweetSpot that helps to retore normal ph levels. I have had some success with this stuff so you may want to give it a try. Just do a google search for it and you can find their website as well as other sites that sell the product. Off the top of my head, drugstore.com is one place to get it.
Hope that helps and good luck!
You don't need soap for your vagina - it self-cleans. Be careful with using ANY kind of soap, because it can lead to infection and irritation. Try not using the soap and just use water - even in your labia.
its thrush... i had the same.. but as a man obviously!! good control of your sugars... wear skirts.. not jeans if you can and keep it cool... it will go away x

I'm a type 1 diabetic and I have been uncomfortably ichy on the outside of my vagina for about 3 weeks to a month now. I haven't gone to the doctor because it comes and goes and I just switched insurence so we've been in the process of organizing our medical records. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what it may be. I've had a yeast infection before and it just feels different. I also have no other symptoms. No smelly or unusual amounts of discharge. I'm really confused and the last time I had this problem I was given yeast infection meds which did not help so I'm sure that's not it. Is it possible that I'm allergic to my toilet paper? I have also stopped using my normal soap and I'm using summer's eve to clean with. Ok..so can anyone help?
