any ideas on sharp pain on the right side just below the ribs

I have developed a sharp pain on my right side just below the ribs.  Occassionally after eating I do have somewhat of a stomach ache but the pain is the biggest issue.  It hurts to stand up laydown, lets just say to move.  Any thoughts?
