Today, as Will polished off his second breakfast of the day, yes, our family is so highly organized that one child can get fed two meals by different members of our family, he looked down from his chair and said "Uh-oh mom....hurry!"
Will has taken to saying"hurry" when something is wrong here. If he spots dog pee or the dog is chewing on one of my shoes, or Mitchell is sneaking food into the family room the alert goes out. "Hurry Mom!" So, back at the chair he spotted some of his cereal that had fallen onto the floor. "Uh-oh Mom, hurry...cereal...floor" How awesome is that? Is there another three year old on the planet that gets concerned over their mess? He was so happy to get to vacuum up those bits too. I have a self cleaning child! Well, almost, but I can see the beginnings of neat freakiness in my kid and I am in love all over again.
Today at Target, Will had fun pointing to all the oversized food posters hanging from the ceiling..."Look mom...a clue!" "A clue" "A clue". Apparently we were on some sort of smorgasborg treasure hunt. While I was at Target I picked up a plastic bin and three big bags of the really cheap-o rice and made Will an at-home treasure hunt. He loves the cups and measuring spoons to dig with. Here he is in action:
I know that the grains of rice that get spilled out of the box are going to get cleaned up too:) Oh, love.
