This day last year, I got on the computer just after Gabi left for school looking for news on a little girl that me and many other people had been praying for. A little girl, who also had Down syndrome, wasn't doing very well after having open heart surgery a couple months prior was the cause of our prayers. She shared the same name as my daughter. When I checked the message boards, I discovered that
Gabi had passed away . We were all devastated. This little girl that most of us had never met in real life and we got to learn about only a few weeks prior had touched our hearts so dearly. Gabi's trademark was pigtails, and we soon all started taking photos of our kiddos in pigtails in remembrance of this sweet angel (even a few boys participated).
Today, on the 1 year anniversary of her death, we remember Gabi again with pigtails. Thank God, my Gabi didn't
shave her head last night, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do this.
