Please continue to pray for Tripp.
Though the surgeon said things went well and he was able to put in a new knee prosthesis, there was some trouble controlling the bleeding. Tripp has to take anti-clotting medication, which leads to this complication. His body is weakened and not manufacturing its own blood as quickly as needed, so he had to have several units of blood today.
I'm mostly concerned though because he has been very depressed this time around. After seeing him today, I called our church and Fr. Cesar and Fr. Gerard went tonight to take him Communion. And a friend of his who has a great sense of humor came to visit him today. I couldn't visit tonight, but the nurse said he seems to be in better spirits.
He is supposed to come home tomorrow. They really roll people out of the hospital too soon these days. I dread the ride home on our potholed, washboardy country gravel road in the big 'ol van which feels every bump and then some. That's a hard hour for Tripp - but it will be nice when he is home.
I will keep you posted.
