You're Fired!

Kellen has been telling people "You're Fired!" long before Donald Trump started his TV show. At first I thought it was just me, but then he started to say it to lots of people throughout his day. I think it made him feel powerful, then later he realized that it made people laugh. For Kellen, it has always been all about making people laugh. He has fired school bus drivers, many teachers and even strangers working at Target. Just in case they take it personally, I tell them that he fires me everyday, and I like it.

I've responded in many different ways. Sometimes I say, "Cool! I guess I'll see you down the road" or "Thank you, I've always wanted to be fired from this lousy job". Several weeks ago I started saying, "You can't fire me because I quit!"

As usual with Kellen, these "fun" routines come and go. I haven't been fired for a long time...until today that is. Because of the snow and ice, school was cancelled. Kellen all of a sudden has been firing me again. All...day...long. If I fail to respond or forget what to say, Kellen has been reminding me, "Mom, you quit". Ahaha
