"Pink represents courage, innocence, delicacy, femininity, diversity and most importantly the ability to heal"
The Pink Project is a charity book of photographs using pink and celebrities to celebrate 'the survivor'. Working with RAINN (Rape, abuse, incest national network) and LABCA (Los Angeles breast cancer alliance)they are spreading the awareness of sexual violence and breast cancer.
Within everyone is the hope and strength to fight through life, victims of rape and incest must draw on this power inside often in silence and shame. Recovering from cancer is an unnerving, uncertain time, no woman should have to go through on her own. Whether these life changes are at the hands of nature or someone else, everyone deserves the support and praise of us all.
All the proceeds of the book go to the two charities to help them continue their work with victims and survivors. To learn more about the pink project visit their website www.thepinkproject.com or www.myspace.com/thepinkproject
It is far more than a book of photographs, I know I want to wear pink.
