Harmonica music has been steadily increasing in popularity in recent years. It?s not only a handy musical instrument for joy among adults and children,?but also an effective tool conducive to improving breathing for those who suffer from lung diseases. Research suggests that harmonica playing can help strengthen muscles, bones, and ribs involved in inhaling and exhaling air. Harmonica music also helps?emotional and mental health.
This free one-hour workshop is intended to introduce?basics of how to play harmonica; how to improve breathing; and how to enjoy harmonica music.?Participants may bring their own harmonica, preferably?a 10-hole diatonic with key?of G or C major. Some harmonicas?will also be available for purchase for $10 at the workshop.
