arm day workout + cardio 6/5/2009

Posted Jun 18 2009 1:51pm

Yes, I must say that I had another awesome workout. Today was upper body and bot did we work it. My arms were so tired from exhaustion at the end that it still felt good. I really do still need to work hard on my upper body since my strength seems so weak. I’ll get there though, one day at a time.

I first started doing a  little cardio to warm-up and wanted to do more but my leg just wouldn’t go there. They were still recovering from “Leg Day” on Thursday. I still pressed on and did something though and I feel that’s important. I can’t let a little pain or discomfort stop me from achieving my ultimate goal.

So for Cardio I did:

  • 30 minutes Elliptical Trainer, Level 17 & 18, Speed 4.01 mph, 2.10 miles, 565 Calories burned.

What I did to help build up my endurance I upped the level a bit to see how I would do.  I was amazed that Level 18 was so much harder to do. That’s why the mileage wasn’t as high. I just could get my legs to move that fast with that level of resistance.

From there it was training time for the upper body. I think we did about 45 minutes of sets. It was a bit hard but I made it through it and I’ll probably feel the burn more tomorrow.

So we did: 3 sets with 15-20/set of:

  • Skull Crushers
  • Bench Press
  • Bench Dips
  • Bicep Curls with Shoulder Presses
  • Push-ups
  • Seated Bench Flys
  • Triceps Presses
  • Zottman Dumbbell Curl

So that wrapped it up for that session. Like I said it went pretty well and I am more than happy with my progress. It just shows me that I can do this. It just takes a lot of drive, determination, time and yes..some sacrifices as well. It’s something that I am willing to take to achieve the great results that will come.

You al  have a great week-end and may it be a healthy one.
