how to lose weight
Lose weight, burn fat, weight loss, lose fat, those are just some of the thoughts that run through people's minds throughout the day. Sure changing your body is important but most people never understand that to lose weight, burn fat, achieve weight loss or lose fat you have to change your mind. I recently sat down with my friend Scott Tousignant from 6 Pack Abs Mindset to discuss how you can create the mindset to get six pack abs. Jimmy: You're very big into teaching people how to have the right mindset for fat loss results. Why is training your mindset so important for fat loss success? Scott: The evidence is overwhelming. Relying on diet and exercise to achieve fat loss success is a recipe for disaster. The best diet and workout program in the world is useless if you don’t believe that you are capable of creating a lean body. When you have an ‘Unstoppable Mindset’ you expect success. It’s no longer a wish or a dream. You become absolutely certain that nothing will get in the way of you developing the healthy and vibrant physique that you deserve. An ‘Unstoppable Mindset’ will help you overcome any challenge or obstacle that gets in your way. An ‘Unstoppable Mindset will help you achieve the best results possible from any diet or workout program that you apply. Jimmy: Most people have this idea that getting six pack abs is hard so they'll actually cheat on their diet thinking that it's impossible to get abs. When you come across this type of person what do you do to help them? Scott: The first thing that I do is get them to accept that it is indeed going to be hard to get 6 pack abs. As crazy as it sounds, when you understand that it takes hard work to get in great shape and you decide that you are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve your goal, fat loss actually becomes easy. The next step would be to compile a list of role models. You need new references, which demonstrate that achieving your dream body will happen. Seek out that 5% of the population and model their behaviors and actions. Find people who were once in the same situation as you currently are. If you are a 60 year old woman who doesn’t believe it’s possible to achieve 6 pack abs after menopause, go find women who have done it. I came across dozens of women during my recent vacation who were in their 60’s and had 6 pack abs. It was pleasantly refreshing to see how they enjoyed the beach and oozed a zest for life. If someone tells you that your fat loss goals are unrealistic just show them a picture of your role models. Jimmy: Can you give us 3 tips for building a mindset for long-term fat loss success. Scott: Passion – This is wear it all starts. Set your goals from your heart. Forget about what the statistics say and any of your past failures. What does your dream body look like? How bad do you want it? Why do you want it so bad? How is your life going to change once you achieve it? Think of how much passion will come into your life once you are lean and sexy. Look At The Big Picture - Achieving your goal does not have to happen over night. Small changes add up very quickly. A great strategy is to simply be better today then you were yesterday and better tomorrow than you are today. After 6 months you will be blown away with the improvements that you’ve made. 18 months from now you could be a fitness model. It’s true! In order to experience this daily growth there are times when you will have to step outside of your comfort zone. You will have to increase the intensity of your workouts, prepare food in advance, write down your goals, spend some time visualizing, pass on the dessert, and other things that have not become a habit for you just yet. Accept discomfort and expect it. It’s an opportunity for you to become better than you are today. Fun – Research shows that the people who choose activities that they enjoy are more likely to stick to their programs for the long term. You may read a book that lays out the best fat burning workout routine and nutrition program, but if you don’t enjoy it chances are you will not stick with it. There are so many different workout programs on the market. Experiment with them and find the ones that fit best with your lifestyle and the ones that you enjoy the most. Don’t just stick with one. You need variety and variety will keep the enjoyment of activity at a high level. Good stuff from Scott. He just told me he's personally working with some select people to achieve 6 Pack Abs Mindset but only if you visit his site before midnight tonight. |
