Learn to Manipulate

Posted May 28 2009 12:17am
Usually when someone says that you are manipulative, you might take it as an insult. In the case of insulin sensitivity, I would say thank you very much. If you are able to manipulate your insulin sensitivity, it likely means that you have or will have a pretty good body composition (if combined with exercise of course).

Although it is impossible to claim a perfect formula for everyone to follow, following certain parameters will likely leave you in a favorable position. Hopefully you “Give Your Body What It Needs” article I posted in January because that will give you a decent idea of what you need to be doing.

Without going into great detail I will tell you that blood insulin levels are likely the most important when it comes to fat loss or weight loss. If you can figure out your body and get a good system down you won’t have to worry too much about your diet. Although the cleaner you eat, the better results you will get, it is more about what and when.

Spiking your insulin levels a few times a day is key especially on days you workout. Usually a pre and post exercise spike will do you good and a spike somewhere in the morning with also benefit. The late night insulin spike is what you desperately want to avoid as you will be storing the nutrients as fat.

Since everyone eats different foods I am not a fan of telling you to eat this and not that. I will say to check out http://www.mendosa.com/insulin_index.htm you can get a list of foods on the Insulin Index. From there try to find the foods you eat regularly. If it comes up with a high number on the chart, eat that more towards the morning or post workout. If it comes up low, save that until the afternoon or evening.

If you learn to manipulate it in a good way, you will be off to a leaner body!
